First month in Lagos

January 31, 2018

It's been almost a month since we moved to Nigeria and so far we enjoy our new life in Lagos. Although I  decided to join my husband and move to Lagos leaving my prestigious job and friends behind, my biggest concern was how our 9 year old son would take the news. He was against the move as by then he made some good friends at his Moscow school, enjoyed his routine along with all the different sports activities, especially skiing and  ice skating. Luckily when we arrived to Lagos and moved into our new house we found out that there was a family with 3 kids living right opposite our house! What a nice surprise! Children seem to be getting along well and enjoy basketball and soccer games after school ( sigh of relief! ).

What I like most about Nigeria so far? It's climate! Although I love Moscow I couldn't get used to cold weather and lack of sun. My skin was dry almost all year around, I used to have cracked skin on my hands and heels and no creams seemed to help, lack of sun undoubtedly had it's negative effect on the mood so leaving in a warm climate is definitely a benefit! Large variety of  delicious fruits makes it even more attractive to live in Lagos and even Harmattan does not seem to affect us negatively so far although I know that some people suffer from asthma, sinusitis, sore throat and itchy eyes because of the dust pollution that Harmattan brings.

As I mentioned in one of my posts on Instagram I am on a mission to find out African women best kept beauty secrets! So stay tuned for more news and beauty tips from me. Bye for now and be safe!
